Well, I hardly use mediums, and Sengoku bunes actually work fine if you bring 2 (just in case), but yeah it's really easy when you get it right. It can try and flee when you get its man count down to roughly 50% which was in my case when i was still boarding resulting in an easy capture. Samurai vs matchlocks when you use warcry = nanban ship's crew drops extremely quickly. It catches fire easily and tries to repair, while i swing my medium bune round and board.

Ran the bow kobaya round the island so wouldnt get hit with cannon fire and spammed fire arrows when on the tail of the nanban ship.

I used an island for LoS which helped speed things up. Can take a few tries and expect to lose some ships, but having the black ship is like instant naval dominance for Buddhist clans (Christians have it easy )Īgreed.tested it last night with 1 bow kobaya and 1 medium bune only. When it repairs itself you can easily get one of your bigger ships in range of boarding, so just surround it with cheap bow kobayas, semi-spam fire arrows until it tries to repair itself, then get either a fast sengoku bune or something like a heavy bune in there and board it.
